Lone Star International Film Festival Preview

The 4th LSIFF will kick-off this Wednesday with the screening of MARWENCOL.

This year’s festival has some wonderful awards for T Bone Burnett with the Stephen Bruton Award, Jeff Bridges with the LSFS Life Achievement Award, and Don Stokes of Post Asylum and TXMPA, with the Commitment to Texas Award.  In the past few years, The LSIFF has presented its most prestigious honor, the LSIFF Life Achievement Award, to Sidney Lumet, Martin Sheen, Bill Paxton, and Gregory Peck. Additionally, the festival has welcomed such noted actors, producers, and directors as Robert Rodriguez, T-Bone Burnett, Fred Durst, James Manos, Lauren Velez, Rod Hardy, Andrey Zvyagintsev, Paul Soter, Donal Logue, and Harry Dean Stanton.

This year’s lineup features selections from top specialty film distributors including Sony Pictures Classics, Magnolia Pictures, and Oscilloscope Pictures and a group of filmmakers that collectively represent more than 10 Academy Awards and 33 nominations as well as BAFTA, Independent Spirit, and festival awards from world famous festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, Slamdance, SXSW, and Tribeca.

On top of all the wonderful honorees and films being showcased the city of Fort Worth will be a party town.

PSD will keep you updated with all the fun and antics at this year’s awesome looking festival.  Its really simple folks, “The Dude” (“or His Dudeness, or Duder, or, you know, El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing”) is going to be in Fort Worth!!!  WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?  O how about T-Bone Burnett, Peter Bogdanovich, Scott Cooper and even John Lee Hancock joining the Dude in Cow-town through this weekend.
