Jeff Lindsay is the bestselling author of Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter, Dexter in the Dark, Dexter by Design and Dexter is Delicious. Jeff lives in Southern Florida with his wife and 3 daughters.  You’ll quickly see how funny and entertaining Jeff Lindsey is and we’ll start out this entertaining conversation with his most well known character.

Jeff explains how the violent impulse is in everyone, but its obviously amplified in sociopaths.

The elaborate murders and deaths that occur in the books do have real-world inspirations and elements in them.  Jeff brings up the main villain in his second book, DEARLY DEVOTED DEXTER.

Just like Dexter, Jeff is a native Floridian and South Florida/Miami in particular is an obvious character in his books.   Jeff talked about the main influence for the large community of South Florida writers.

Jeff talks about why South Florida is such a beloved home for writers.

Jeff talks about his newest book, Dexter is Delicious, and also talks about how the TV show and books differ.

Jeff told an amazing story about how he found out who would play Dexter.

Jeff sums up his feelings on his creation called Dexter.

We’ll have more with Jeff in the near future.  Tomorrow though we have some wonderful treats.  We’ll look once again at the Austin Film Festival – which has its closing night film tonight with CASINO JACK.

And also tomorrow James Faust, Artistic Director for the Dallas Film Society, talked to PSD about this weekend’s double feature at the beautiful Annette Straus Artists Square.
