Go Mean Green!

Riley Dodge looked great in  20-10 upset win in Muncie, knocking off Ball St. in the ’09 opener.

Really hard to believe what I watched tonight via the DVR. The Mean Green (which was just god-awful last season) played great defense for the first time since the ‘glory days’ early this decade. Granted Ball State’s offense didn’t have much with FR quarterback Kelley Page it was nice to see something that resembled defense. Oh yeah, and we saw snaps taken under center. The ground game was awesome with Cam Montgomery, Lance Dunbar, and Riley running stretch option at times. The passing game dinked and dunked Ball St. to death. I didn’t see enough defensive adjustments out of the Cardinals, but who cares. I am a happy UNT alum early this morning. You can read up on tonight’s win from the DRC’s Brett Vito.

Also here are some stats with some highlights from ESPN.com.

I haven’t said it enough since I graduated in ’05, but GO MEAN GREEN!!!

WOW!!! Maybe all Coach Dodge needed was his “boy”. Pretty Pretty Pretty Impressive.

Could I be any more excited about this? Probably not. We’ve joked about Riley being the savior of this program; looks like it might come true.
