Yesterday was a Lovely Day and Night that I felt needed to be shared with you all. First off the fam and my lovely lady – had a great
with the folks at a little Armenian restaurant in Plano called King Kabob – tasty meal with wonderful service as usual. Also note if you leave your credit card the lady there will search for you and keep it…..thanks!!!
Now to after the meal to celebrate another birthday for my AARP reading father – Sarah and I decided to shop a little and then head over to friends for Date Night.
Now when you go to Date Night with my good friend Jeff – you have to realize everyone who knows him has always called him Crazy Jeff (no joke his high school year book has it makes it official). Well Crazy never leads us to a dull night.
So what made this night so fun and raucous – well some details I can go over – some I CAN NOT! HAHAHAHAHAHAH.
Anyways after much discussion we ditched our plans for more Mediterranean food we decided on a nice Thai restaurant in Dallas’ Lower Greenville Area. Dinner as usual was fun and tasty. But the real fun started when we made it back to Crazy Jeff’s Girlfriend Tommi’s nice Dallas Pad. There we were introduced to Emeril Lagasse’s Sangria –
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 large lemon
- 1 large orange
- 1 small apple, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 (750 ml.) bottle dry red wine (recommended: Rioja) – (THE WINE WE USED WAS A DEEPER RED – GAVE A DARK PUPRLE HUE TO THE DRINK – TASTY THOUGH!)
- 1/2 cup Grand Marnier
Ok make sure to keep the glasses full like our attentive host did. Next ad music in the background – we switched from Kings of Leon (not recommended and quickly verbally trashed), to Pop hits (once again not recommended), to James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, Beatles, and some Rolling Stones.
Then the fun……BOARD GAMES – YES BOARD GAME!! Our choice this evening and most likely for evenings in the future is Cranium.
We one the first game a few weeks back – but they one this time pretty handled I will full admit (I blame sangria for causing Sarah to lose focus, she’ll blame my inability to act, draw, hum, and speak correctly).
Ok so I really didn’t have a point to this story. Rather I figured I shared a wonderful Date night with you all and start up a nice thread about YOUR Date Nights of fun. So tell me folks what did you do on your fun date night recently. We’re always looking to have fun.
So when you’re bored with the lady and the friends and you want something to do – Sangria, Cranium and Thai Food = GREATNESS.
