The Oscar buzz over the Weinstein Company‘s upcoming, My Week with Marilyn is richly deserved. PSD was able to chat with the Director of the film, Simon Curtis. Click thru for the video interview.
The film directorial debut of Simon Curtis brings to life the story of one of history’s most iconic figures and her short romantic interlude with young brit, Colin Clark. Simon’s years in television and theater as a director and producer made his transition into film, both meaningful and well done. The movie is a mixture of Colin Clark’s two books on the time that Marilyn Monroe filmed Sir Laurence Olivier’s The Prince and the Showgirl. Michelle Williams is utterly captivating and mesmerizing as Marilyn Monroe. She captures not only her amazing beauty, but also the vulnerable and dark qualities to the famous starlet. An incredible supporting cast with Kenneth Branagh, Julia Ormond, Dame Judi Dench, Dominic Cooper and young stars Eddie Redmayne, and Emma Watson all deliver in this wonderful film. And now here is our chat with Director Simon Curtis.
